Director:Guillermo gel Toro
Cast:Idris Elba

A full out action pack film based in the near future where aliens (the Kaiju) has come though a rift in the pacific ocean. We follow the soldiers piloting the giant robots fighting them.

Charlie Hunnam plays the lead as Raleigh Becket who goes though love, loss and battling giant aliens. His portrayal does give a lack of depth to his character and is out acted by some of the cast like Idris Elba and Charlie Day. Idris as the commander of the Jaegers (the giant robots)in Hong Kong who fights to keep funding and moral for the troops by several impressive speeches the most memorable is when the jaegers are going out for the final assault knowing most of them will not come back, he says "Today we face the monsters at our door and bring the fight to them. Today, we are cancelling the apocalypse".

The film has a epic feel to it with several intense scenes of action. This is help by as those great speeches and jaegers dragging cargo ships though Hong Kong to face a kaiju and drawing swords to cut a giant fish Kaiju right down the middle.

From the Pictures and concept of the movie it looks quite cheesy and predictable but it completely defies that it is strong, well shot and over of epic movie and a strong plot helps to bring it all together. I good watch you will enjoy it more than you think.

A big action movie will stunning SFX only let down by some acting flaws 74/100
